I’m a Mom of 4 kids ranging in age from 1 year old to 13 years old. I’ve lived in the Bitterroot my entire life and graduated from Corvallis School in 2008. I am attending MSU for my degree in Chemical Addiction Studies to become a licensed addiction counselor. I am also attending the U of M to earn my degree in social work.
I use prevention programs as a way to help the youth understand what addiction is and what nicotine does to a body before they even pick a vape or any other tobacco product up. I am a strong advocate for prevention. When it comes to those who have been caught with a vape or are struggling with a nicotine addiction, I use the InDepth and N-O-T (Not On Tobacco) Programs from the American Lung Association. These programs focus on education, cessation, and giving the youth tools to avoid giving in to the nicotine.
